It all started with a bar, a few buckets of paint and people who simply pitched in. Then came gigs, a lockdown, water damage, a closure – and a comeback. Here's the whole story. Short and honest.
We never wanted to be just a bar that plays the right music. We wanted a place where the scene comes together – fans as well as bands looking for a stage.
Regulars volunteered to help renovate, and Almost Indie played the opening. They had even helped with the demolition beforehand – you can see it in their music video.

Snow in March? We rocked anyway. In July the Ravens beach bar stood at the Altstadtfest, and in November Danny Attack became the first artist from America to play with us.
Corona. Forced closure from midnight, overnight. The bar was shut, but your messages didn't stop: when are you opening again?
So we built the online shop. No plan, pretty improvised – and you loved it anyway. Especially shirts, zip hoodies and joggers.
To the merch
Live music in the middle of Corona? Of course. With distance and by all the rules, Frau Wolf and Eiche Rustikal played for everyone sitting at home in front of their screens.
Two weeks after the Corona rules were lifted, the next blow came: water damage. Renovating again, again no idea how things would go on.
Giving up still wasn't an option. Every day messages came from you, and they kept us going.
Despite everything, word about Ravens spread – in Lorraine, in Rhineland-Palatinate and all the way to the big festival stages. A bar has become a brand that reaches far beyond the old town.
Then came the end: for operational reasons we had to close the bar. That hurt – us and you.
But one thing was clear: you can't just switch off the Ravens spirit. You kept wearing the merch, writing to us and believing in us.
When Ravens had to close, something died inside me. My greatest hope is that they make the phoenix story come true.
And then it came true, the phoenix story. Since January 2025 we've been back: at Bierstraße 20, in the 7. Himmel, where people have been rocking since 1978. Almost 50 years of rock history now meet Ravens.
Come by. The beer is cold, the music is loud.
